More Than Holidays

When I first got in to Christian pilgrimage, I felt instant relief – who would have thought something as simple as a trip to the Middle East could make you feel so alive? I caught the pilgrimage bug there and then, and IU haven’t stopped going back. I try to make the trip from Australia to somewhere in the Middle-Eastern part of the world at least once a month, and I hope to move there eventually.

Keeping It Affordable

Some people ask how I afford to travel such a long distance at least once a month, and I tell them cost just isn’t a factor when you love doing something, but I do run a very successful travel blog. I think I started An Aussie Year as a way of documenting the travels for myself, but it really grew in popularity and now it’s my main source of income.

Success

Even though I’m a Christian and I’m more in to Catholic pilgrimage, my most popular articles are on Israel tours – my readers can’t get enough of those articles, they just love them. I think I owe my immense success writing this blog to my profound faith in all things religious – I honestly don’t know where I’d be if I didn’t believe.

Writing It Down

I really like live-journaling when I go on a holy land pilgrimage – I get lots of readers doing that because people want to know when it’s like then and there, in the moment. I also get a real buzz out of writing it. I think I might switch to video soon though and make a channel or something and love-stream right from my tent in the Middle East. I really think that would take-off.
